Here is a list of 25 habits of happy and successful people that I compiled that should give you a glimpse into how to live the life of your dreams.

Happy and Successful people…

They forget who they were and focus on who they want to be. If you don’t let go of your past then you won’t find your future.

They are sure of themselves and stick to their guns. Uncertainty is the key component of failure.

They are willing to admit when they are wrong. If you can’t accept that you’re wrong then there’s no room to learn.

They surround themselves with those who are worthy. Your friends make you who you are.

They allow unwarranted and hateful criticism to roll off their shoulders. You will always have haters — learn to ignore those that are just trolling.

They accept constructive criticism. You aren’t always right; others may have a clearer perspective than yourself.

They focus and act on what they believe is right and don’t act simply to please. If you’re constantly pleasing others then you won’t have time to please yourself.

They see challenges as an opportunity to learn and to grow as individuals. If you’re never challenged then you’re never going to see the world from a different perspective.

They are open-minded. There’s always another way to do it — a way that may very well be better.

They are quick to adapt. If evolution has taught us anything, it’s this: those who adapt the fastest and most efficiently are those who survive.

They do the right thing because it’s the right thing. Having moral standards and following them alleviates the chances of feeling guilt.

They don’t complain. If the situation can’t be changed and you can’t avoid doing what you have to do, then there’s no reason to complain; it only weighs on your nerves.

If they start something, they finish it. If you’re not going to finish what you started, then why bother starting in the first place?

They exercise regularly. You are an animal and animals are made to move and to push their limits.

They read regularly. It’s the quickest way to learn how the world works.

They keep a well-balanced, nutritious diet. What you eat affects your body on a chemical level.

They take risks. Fear is acceptable as long as you overcome it.

They have no problem with saying “no.” Often at times, it’s the things and opportunities that you turn down that allow for success to manifest.

They meditate and learn to control their breathing. Breathing is the link between our conscious and subconscious mind.

They focus on the moment. Life can only be lived in the moment.

They question convention. The way things are done isn’t always the best way to do things.

They care for and want to give back to human kind. We are all related and all connected.

They learn from others, their heroes and mentors. Having guidelines makes life easier.

They learn from the mistakes of others before they make the mistakes themselves. History does not need to repeat itself.

They respect others and expect respect in return. We are all equal and should all be treated kindly and respectfully.

Most importantly, they are happy. And, at the end of the day that’s what life is all about. Time.

It’s all to do with beliefs.

Your beliefs underpin every single thought you make, every action you take, every goal you set, every value you have, every habit your form, ultimately leading you to your destiny in life.  One of the ways your beliefs are formed in life is through repetition e.g. if you were constantly told as a child just how kind you are, chances are you’ll believe that you are a kind person.

This can have negative consequences as well such as being told you are no good enough at something, again, chances are you’ll have the belief that you are not good in a particular area of your life.  This is how abusers break down their victims, by constantly telling them how they are no goo, nobody wants them, therefore making them reliant on their abuser.

That’s a very brief outline about beliefs, and obviously there’s a lot more to it than that, but you get the picture.

So, we can use this knowledge of beliefs and how repetition can help us form new beliefs by using affirmations.

Cognitive Dissonance

When you first start using affirmations your mind will try and reject them.  This is perfectly natural as there’s something called cognitive dissonance happening, which means you are trying to hold two conflicting beliefs at the same time.  For example, at the moment, you might believe that you will never have money in your life, and when you start using affirmations like: ‘money flows easily to me in my life’, your mind automatically says ‘Eh! wait a minute, that’s bull.  For years you’ve been telling me I’ll never have money, and now you’re saying money flows easily to me…what the hell?’


This cognitive dissonance will fade over time and the more you use affirmations the more your old beliefs will fade away.

How To Keep Your Liver Healthy ?

The liver is a key organ for detoxifying our bodies. If our livers aren’t healthy or functioning properly, the toxins that should be eliminated could end up staying in our bodies and cause damage. Here are a few tips for supporting your liver heath — and as a result, the health of the rest of your body — through your diet.
Tips for Liver Support:
Lemon Juice:

For liver support, start each day with a cup of warm water with lemon juice (fresh). The citric acid in lemon juice encourages the liver to produce bile, which is one way that the body excretes toxins.
Cruciferous Vegetables:

Cruciferous vegetables induce different liver enzyme pathways to clear toxins from the body. Aim to eat 1-2 cups of these vegetables per day. They include broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts, Bok Choy, turnips, watercress, rocket, Lightly cooking them is better than eating them raw.
Foods rich in Sulfur:

Eat at least one portion of onions, garlic and/or eggs per day. These contain sulfur, which helps the liver to clear hormones and toxins.
Apple Cider Vinegar:

Drink a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar each day.
Avoid Alcohol:

Two big burdens to the liver are fructose and trans fats. Avoid French fries, donuts, baked goods, biscuits, breads and anything that has “hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated” oil as part of the ingredients. Fructose is found in packaged foods and fruit juice.
Drink more Water:

9 Toxic Behaviours That Will Kill Your Soul

Nobody is perfect, right. As much as we strive to live a pure and simple life, sometimes we slip and let toxicity into our lives. It actually just kinda sneaks in before we have a chance to check it at the door. When we do realize we are behaving poorly, it’s already too late. Not too late to change it, but too late to have prevented it in the first place.
If you are into the Law of Attraction you’ll know that these behaviours stop manifestations in their tracks and can completely block what you want to attract in life.

What is Toxic Bahaviour

What exactly is a toxic behaviour and how can it affect us? I’ve only listed 9 but I’m sure there are hundreds of things we do that suck the life out of us. When we recognize some of these behaviours, it is quite easy to change them. Simply stop doing them. Easier said than done? Not really. When you know what it’s doing to your soul, wouldn’t you want it to stop immediately anyway? I know I would.
Let’s have a quick look at what some of these toxic behaviours are and without judging anyone, I’m sure you can recognize yourself in some of these. I know I’m guilty of one or two. Listed in no particular order, here they are.

Gossiping.

We all do it. Some of us more than others. We talk about the girl next door or the new guy that just started working here. We talk about how the Brown’s just split up and “Did you hear why they separated?” Did you know that when we talk about people it shows an insecurity or jealousy in us? Boom. Where are you lacking in your life that you feel the need to cut down someone else’s life? Have a think about that for a moment.

Lying.

Ok this is just plain terrible. One thing I can honestly say I don’t do. Not even white lies. There’s no point or purpose to this. Who are you lying to and why? It doesn’t even make any sense to do this and I still don’t understand why so many people still lie. You think the truth hurts, check out a lie. Nothing hurts more than that.

Worrying about things that haven’t happened yet.

Let me repeat that if I may. Things that haven’t happened yet. Why would you waste your time and energy worrying about something that hasn’t even happened? I know a lot of us play out a situation in our head and our first instinct is to be play it out with a bad ending. Why do we do that? I’ve done this one myself once or twice. Worry is a natural emotion/feeling. It’s up to you to control it and stop it in its tracks before it spirals out of control. That’s when the stress kicks in and our blood pressure rises. No need for all this now, is there?

Holding a grudge.

There’s an old saying “holding a grudge is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die”. Think about that for a sec. The poison you are drinking is the grudge. You are swallowing every drop and you are mad and pissed off to a point of no return. Expecting the other person to die? Honestly they could care less what you think. Hell they probably aren’t even thinking about you anyway. So why on earth are you wasting your time and energy grudging on someone? Go pick some flowers and bring them to a nursing home. Really. Spend time doing happy things. Not brewing and stewing over silly things.

Jealousy.

The girls in the magazine are beautiful. Sally has a beautiful body. Jimmy has a nice car. The Whites just bought a brand new house.  With every turn, someone somewhere has something better or nicer than we do. Our first reaction is jealousy. There is no need to be jealous really. We all have something special, unique and beautiful inside of us. We also all have something that someone else wishes they had. Just be grateful for who you are and what you have. You are perfect and blessed exactly the way you are. Embrace it.

You’ve already lived the past.

Oh how we love to hang on to what happened 5, 10 or even 25 years ago. We still go on and on about it to whoever will listen. Why shouldn’t we? Who we are today is because of what happened to us yesterday. Well, yes, you’re right. Sort of. Who we are today is the result of the way we chose to handle the past. We didn’t all have silver spoons in our mouths. Some of us were dealt really shitty hands. It is what it is. Be done with it. No one wants to hear it, really. Just tell us something happy and joyful. That’s all we want to hear now.

I love me.

Watch how you talk to yourself. You are listening. Make sure your self-talk is loving, kind, compassionate, gentle, caring and supportive. Talking bad about yourself to yourself is probably the worst thing you can do. Treat yourself in a totally loving and positive manner. When you do this, you will be able to see how awesome you are and how much more awesome you will become.

Woe is me.

Always the victim never the victor. Sad things keep happening to you and you can’t wait to tell the next person you see. The more you talk about it, the more depressed you get and the more terrible things keep happening to you. You think your life is bad? Go hang out in a city where they just had a devastating earthquake or tsunami. Stop whining. We’re getting sick of listening to it and there will come a point where no one will want to be around you. How lonely will that be?

Dear Daughter: Let's Talk About the Way You See Your Body

Dear Daughter,

There were a few times when a little boy, quite blunt with his comments, would come over to say, “She’s fat.” He’d refer to you, whom I’d be carrying.

Whether or not he meant harm, I couldn’t help but wonder: why is it that appearances would merit a comment from about anyone? Does it change things if I mention that you were just a few months old when those incidents would happen?

Perhaps I am party to the practice as well; I’d revel in your plump baby arms and legs, the folds of your neck and ankles. And I’d tell you how cute I found those.


We dote that way: itemizing the body parts that we favor. And we offend that way: paying attention to appearances more than we should. Our first instincts, sadly, are to verbalize what we see, and often without thinking.

I’ve heard of parents who make it a rule not to call their daughters beautiful, pretty, cute, and the like. I suppose the idea is that there should be more emphasis on other (i.e. non-physical) qualities.

It’s a good concept: we should certainly go beyond the physical when dealing with other people. And when it comes to children, we need to be careful about what we say about them, because of the values they may attach to certain words and praises.

But, my dear, we hardly have the chance to correct how other people talk and think. And this is why I want us to open up a discussion about your body and how you – and you alone – regard it.

You will observe that people like to talk, and it’s not just the people that you know or those that dote on you. People like to talk about anything and comment on just about everything. Someone’s appearance, outfit, body shape, toenails, hair, lipstick – there’s always something to say.

Do you listen?

In a way, it depends on who’s talking. In a way, it depends on the intention behind the comment. But most importantly, it depends on how you view yourself, your body, and your outlook in the world. Your attitude and values will spell a big difference in identifying what is true and valid.

May I share what I think and what I’ve learned so far?

1. Food is nourishment. And food is enjoyable. 
Be wary of diets and other rules of eating that elicit feelings of guilt, obligation, and averseness. Food is meant to make you nurtured, energized, and – to an extent – happy. Regard food as an enjoyable way to help build a strong body that will help you attain your daily and long-term goals. (Relish your meals, don’t overindulge. Knowing the difference is key.)

2. Fitness is not thinness
I grew up stick-thin, gorging on sweets, and nixing exercise. Then pregnancy and age hit me and made me pay. Thinness is not an indication of a sound body, nor is it any indication of health. It is a disservice to yourself to think of protruding collarbones and ribs as idealized body goals. Instead, engage in activities that will keep your heart pumping, engage your core muscles, and give you a regular dose of endorphins.

3. You are stronger than you think (or what others think)
It’s sweet if someone wants to carry a heavy item for you, but you should be able to take care of yourself at any time. Don’t let anyone keep you out of a sport or activity that supposed to be “for men only.” Whether it’s ballet or jiu jitsu, moving furniture or lifting a hefty box, your body can handle the pressure.

4. Physical perfection is an illusion
Beauty is subjective. The cultural ideal is dictated by those with the loudest voices and the broadest reach: celebrities and models who are on strict diets, made up by professionals, in well-lit photographed areas, digitally enhanced on magazine covers, and airbrushed to unrealistic flawlessness. These illusions will mess with your head if you take them seriously.

5. Clothes should serve you. Fashion can be fun, but it’s no one’s master – certainly not yours.
Luckily, there is a whole range of shapes and sizes when it comes to clothes because every body is different. What’s hanging on a mannequin or walking down the catwalk is not meant for all. Fashion is about expression, even experimentation, not a life sentence dictating what you’re supposed to look like. Dress according to your body and your taste.

6. A routine for grooming and hygiene is a way of life
Do you need to be scrubbed, polished, coiffed, waxed hairless, and blemish-free? You can try to keep up, but don’t let it stress you out. Having a well-put together appearance should be a result of self-worth—of giving priority to caring for yourself.

7. Body acceptance does not mean doing anything you want with it
Any negligence or abuse will eventually catch up with you, even if, right now, you’re feeling invincible.

8. Know the numbers that matter and why they matter
Yes, you can watch your weight, but give it context. How does it stand to your heart rate, blood pressure, sugar levels, aerobic fitness, strength and endurance levels? A visit to a fitness coach and regular health checkups can tell you more than looking at the scale or dress size.

9. Your body will change as your life changes
Ah, women go through so much physically and every life stage will affect your body composition. Adolescence, adulthood, pregnancy, motherhood, and aging in general will have a say on how your body will change. Yes, there are grandmothers who can do hand stands and pregnant women who can belly dance like nothing else matters, but there comes a point when you have to listen to your body and accept things you may not be happy to. Seek grace at each point.

10. Choose your “mirrors” wisely
When your health is sliding it will manifest in your body. It may be a little pooch, it may be sudden weight gain or loss, it may be a listlessness that surfaces, or falling hair, or insomnia.

It’s too easy to lie to yourself that everything’s ok. It’s too easy to distract yourself and be too busy with everything else. Surround yourself with good people who are honest and kind, who will tell you the truth you need to hear so that you can take care of yourself better.

What I’m trying to say, Daughter, is: You listen to yourself. You do this by actively seeking ownership of your body. This way, you can shut out the noise, have a firm grasp of your responsibilities to it, and be rewarded when you keep it running at its best condition.

Here's why:
According to research, the car dashboard, sofa and air freshener emit Benzene, a cancer-causing toxin (carcinogen) .

Take time to observe the smell of heated plastic in your car. In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anaemia and reduces white blood cells.

Prolonged exposure will cause leukaemia, increasing the risk of cancer. It can also cause miscarriage. Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq ft.

A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.

People who get into the car keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin.

Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and liver. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.
